PostSubject: An unexpected meeting[fb]   Fri Nov 08, 2013 7:04 pm

The wind blew ever so gently, the day had almost reached it's end. It was evening as the calm and quite forest echoed with the voices of the beasts that had made it their home. And one shinobi, walked through the forest, careless of the storm that followed this silence. Ryu walked with little care of his surroundings. He was in the mood to take an idle walk, sometimes the boring paper work in the office takes it’s tow.  A little walk in the woods would and the calm and quiet forest would relieve the pressure of operating a secret root of a village. He had still some catching up to do when it came to paper work. His whole life had been about being a shinobi, no body told him that there’s plenty of paper work to do when you get higher ranks
Dressed in his casual attire, the tall shinobi wearing the usual long black overcoat that swayed along with the winds. He had his Sand gourde on his back, it was a bit of a habit. He wouldn’t go anywhere without it. Life had taught him to be more careful, sometimes it pays to be more cautious.  His general demeanor, was elegant, yet not too elegant. A little sand filled in the air, as he walked by. It wasn’t his doing, his chakra just made it flow around, even if he kept it well suppressed.
He would walk the forest, noticing the chirping birds, returning to their nests. A day of hard labor for the little creatures. How simple life would be if it was just to wake up and find food that would last for a day. No, this wasn’t what Ryu was thinking. He wasn’t the philosopher type. He had noticed how fragile life was, and that was why his ultimate goal was immortality. No more worries of something like death. Eternal life, seeing all the things you do make their way into history. That would be something worth living for.
The air somehow felt a little different. Ryu felt something was headed his way, was it a beast? A shinobi perhaps? He wasn’t in the mood for a casual, “hey, who are you? And what are you doing here?” kinda scenario. That would be just too frustrating. Being the ANBU leader and hearing “yes sir” all the time does give people an excessive sense of pride sometimes.
(‘What is it in the air that makes me feel so…uneasy’) He found himself thinking that. Though still unaware as to what caused such thoughts to arise in his mind. May be it was just his gut instinct, or may be he was way too tired and exhausted from paper work that he was suffering from a temporary paranoia. Either way, little did he know, he was just about to be proved right.

PostSubject: Re: An unexpected meeting[fb]   Sat Nov 09, 2013 4:43 am

The day was winding down, a once bright sun now ushering in darkness, a beautiful scene left in the sky for those to view. A crimson blanket transitioned the baby blue sky to its darker nocturnal form, only hours were left in the day, before night fell upon the world. The creatures were finishing off their daily routines in the forest, trying to prepare for the next day to come. It was a siren night, one that many people did not get to enjoy due to the hustle and bustle of village life. Work, training, routines and responsibilities often kept men confined to their duty, making it hard to enjoy a peaceful night like tonight. However when someone managed to get away, they would be rewarded with a peaceful night of relaxation and tranquility.

Railen was one of these shinobi, who had managed to pry himself away from work and get out of the village. Sure there was stuff to do, things that needed to be done, but when your the head of a secret task force and the right hand man of the kage, there is always work to be done. One could go mad from all the work on their plate if they did not find a way to relieve stress. And thus the young jounin of the hidden cloud village found himself wandering these woods, woods he was all to familiar with. This forest was a natural protection from those who wished to harm the place he called home, and after several missions and ventures he had learned the ins and outs of this forest. It was like his second home, a place he came to for peace and quite.

However something was off, an odd sensation filled the air as railen continued his walk down the dirt path. His foot steps were calm, his composure relaxed, he was actually enjoying himself for once, which was a very rare thing. His attire consisted of the normal grey cloak with a black under suit to keep himself warm, after all nights around these parts got awefully cold. His face mask was on, which covered the entire bottom half of his face, and his head gear sat strapped around his head. Oni Akka, the great demon slayer, lay calmly at his side, ready for the moment its master would need it. Most would say he was to professional, dressed up for war even when going out on a small stroll, but he knew his place in this world. He knew he was a tool and was prepared at all times for when his duty called him. So it was not unlike him to walk around, even this calm forest, adorned in his complete battle attire.

The sensation that something was off lingered in his mind, there was something different about the woods today, be it an animal attack, or a stranger not accustomed to this place. Non the less he would carry on. In the back of his mind he sort of hoped that something interesting, maybe an adventure, lay before him. He loved when things caught his attention, even if it were to break this peacefulness. No sooner than the thought had entered his mind, the answer to his question came into view. A figure was slowly making its way towards him, not in a rushed or frantic fashion, but relaxed just like himself. The man had powerful chakra readings come from him, but that was about all that railen could sense from here. He put a casual expression in his eyes as he approached the man. " Evening sir, kind of late to be roaming out here in the woods all alone huh? Someone might think you are up to no good.

He did not intentionally mean to sound rude, however it had been a long day and the last contact with a person railen had was a couple of hours ago. He was not exactly in a people skill skills kind of mood. So when the words left his mouth, it was not surprising that they were rude, rash and almost arrogant sounding. Railen almost felt bad, this was not how he treated people, however it was getting late and the man was cutting it pretty close to the village. The young swordsman had every right to be suspicious of this man. It was just bad luck that it was in a very rude manner.

Attempting to get rid of the thoughts he had about the paper work he had left behind. Also the missions that were still pending, and the meetings he would need to make. And the work he had to do to establish a relation with other villages, ensure peace and continue to do all the secret stuff. The more he tried to get rid of those thoughts, the more they came barging in through the window of his mind. ”….sigh” He let out an audible sigh. It indeed was an honor to be the leader of not only the Sunahama clan, but also the ANBU root of Seikagakure, but with position came a lot of lousy responsibilities.

From a little while, Ryu had been feeling these strange vibes. It was like a gut feeling or a sixth sense that something was heading his way. The wind had brought the feeling to him, it was a notion that every tree was conveying. Almost like in a horror movie with talking trees in it. The ominous atmosphere was trying to speak to him, as if saying Beware of what lies ahead. Yet he continued in his path, unaware that he had come dangerously close to kumogakure. The status of both the villages was neutral towards each other. And considering how fragile the shinobi world is, a little mistake, one wrong move could tilt this neutral status to the enemies status. Which wouldn’t be in the favor of any of the villages.

A while ago, when Ryu had left the village. The shinobi at the gates of coarse couldn’t muster up the courage to ask him where he was going. He just walked right by the gates, not feeling the need to inform the kage. Having a position had it’s privileges. At the very least one didn’t have to tell everything one did. And being in the ANBU root gave one a bit more than just that. He had about enough of the boring routine of the day. So he just decided to take a good long walk. Little did he know, that his ‘little’ walk would turn out to be a good long walk. And then he would end up in the woods, near kumogakure.

He still had no intention of heading back, still as careless as he was. He was sure that the tasks he had assigned to his subordinates would be enough for the day. They wouldn’t be needing any more orders, at least for now. Even if they had done their assigned tasks of the day. The ANBU root was well capable enough to make do in the absence of their leader.  So one thing that Ryu didn’t have to worry about was that the ANBU would go on a riot without him.

It didn’t take much long for his feelings of someone or something approaching would be verified. He could see a figure approaching his way. From the distance it appeared like someone was dressed for…. War?? (‘What the….??’) He would think to himself, it was indeed odd, there wasn’t any war going on, at least that he knew of. But this guy, he appeared to be dressed for war. It could be that this guy normally dressed in this manner, but why would someone do that, on purpose? Well, it wasn’t his headache now was it?

As the figure drew closer, Ryu noticed that this person had quite an impressive chakra signature which meant he wasn’t just your every day shinobi. Before Ryu could say anything, he was hit right away with a question.  Apparently this person had a problem with him walking there in the evening? Ryu’s tough day was enough to get him in a bad mood, but this guy, he was just plain rude. As he heard those words, Ryu raised his eye brow, expressing shock and anger at the same time. Even if he was trespassing or something, it could’ve been solved by discussion, one doesn’t have to be rude, it’s just uncalled for. Given his short temper, of coarse Ryu was pissed, he wasn’t going to let this slide. Tilting his head a bit to the left, as if trying to assess this rude shinobi, he replied, ”And would that someone be capable enough to do something about it?”

Yeah, he did it. He provoked the shinobi flat out. It was like an invitation to a fight, he was pissed and he made no secret of it. The manner and tone he had used, would be equivalent to someone saying “put up your dukes” and that was indeed his intention. He didn’t care that this person’s chakra rivaled his. It might be his way of letting out some steam, or his way of getting back to him.

The man continued to walk closer, slowly coming into sight, Railen could now make out who this stranger was. He looked strong, and the feeling the young jounin got was of even more power, this man had skill. Railen slowly scanned the man, trying to take in any notable features, the most obvious being a giant gourd on the mans back, with some kind of sand like material hovering around its opening. This was a very odd trick, but not one that took him off of his guard. He was starting to find interest in this man. What seemed like a peaceful encounter however turned into something more, something that may turn dangerous. The man who was clearly imposing on his home land, had sent out threatening words, a tone of anger and frustration in his voice. Railen smirked, placing his right hand on the hand;e of Oni Akka, and his left hand on the collar of his white robe.

"Capable? I do believe that, someone, is more than capable, i doubt you even make it out of this forest with words like that. Heh " A small chuckle escaped his mouth as his left hand flung out, pulling off his robe and tossing it several feet to the side. A large plume of smoke expelled itself from railens body, spreading out around the young man. After being kept contained in the robe, it was now free to float around the ninja, creating a very ominous appearance, and shrouding some of the sword mans appearance. Taking a step forward he glared at the man before him, eyeing him through the swirling smoke that now surrounded the man. "You sound big and bad, and apparently i have already offended you. So how about you come over here and make me apologize huh? or are you capable? "

Ryu was indeed pissed and his intentions from those words would be obvious. He wanted to test this shinobi who had so boldly asked him as to what his reasons were for traveling so casually in the forest. Since last time Ryu checked roaming around in a forest wasn’t a crime. As he didn’t knew that he was near kumogakure, he believed he wasn’t at fault here. His taunt had done it’s job, the shinobi who had offended him, now was offended himself. For two normal persons that would be enough, but now, things were about to get.. interesting.

The outfit of the young man didn’t give much about him. Besides that he was ready for war and that he was a weapon user. Since a sword was visible suspended to his waist. It would be nuisance if he got close, Ryu could hold his own at close range. Since Taijutsu was among his list of fighting abilities, but still, a sword user at close range. Not a good idea.

When the shinobi placed his hand on his sword, Ryu felt that he might be among those who would launch an attack right out of no where. So he began to prepare more sand right away. The sand in the gourde was enough for a battle, but if he wanted to leave an impression, he needed more sand. Since he was sending the sand in small amounts under the ground. Unless someone was more focused on his sand, he wouldn’t notice. While he removed his hands that had been resting in the pockets of his over coat. Ready to take on a sudden attack, if it came to that.

But it didn’t the shinobi threw away his white robe. And then taunted Ryu, he replied with a smile. Not words, it was more like an evil grin. A determined look in his eyes. He wasn’t intimidated, he was more confident in his abilities, and it was beyond words anyways. The two were ready to go head to head now. Ryu would say something, he wasn’t the one to let others have the last word. Before he could though, smoke began to appear out of the shinobi, (‘What’s this?’) He had heard stories of such a bloodline existing, but he had yet to come across someone having such a bloodline. As the smoke shroud began to envelope the shinobi, as a response, Ryu released the sand in the gourde, now surrounding the ground under his feet and the air around him.

Surrounded by air, Ryu would appear as a sand demon, with his evil expression on his face. He had that cold, dark aura that could send chills down the spine of the weak. He kept his hands just hanging down, in the relaxed manner. His intentions weren’t to launch the first attack. Jumping into battle against someone whose capabilities were unknown wouldn’t be too smart now would it? So he remained where he stood.  ”Words won’t prove anything, now would they? “

The time for games was over, diplomacy had failed and there was only one course of action left. These two men stood alone in this forest, now exerting their power like two peacocks in a stand off, showing off their true beauty. These were ninja, words were not their forte, they were built for battle, trained to kill, and at this very instant their reason for existing was about to cause these two titans to clash. On one side you had a hot headed shinobi, pouring his chakra and sand into the air, filling the forest with a demonish sensation, his lust for battle growing. On the other hand was a prideful intense shinobi cloaking himself in smoke and filling the forest with arrogance, his lust for battle growing. Even the animals felt the power, for they now backed off from the area, hiding in places that may not even be safe at this point. The scene had been set, the pieces were in place.

Railen's eyes narrowed, he gave a final nod, showing that the time for words was over, both men knew that to speak was to only waste your breath. His muscles tightened, the blood in his veins began to pump faster. But now they had come to a standoff, for neither man wanted to make the first strike. Another smirk crossing the young kumo jounins face. This man was a true shinobi, he knew battle, and was refusing to rush in, railen liked this, it meant that he would have a real challenge today. It joyed him more than anything to make the first move. Slowly the small shroud of smoke began to grow, extending itself out completely across the field. Railens pores began to push more and more smoke out, filling up the area in the thick black smoke. in less than a couple of seconds the entire area was a smoke filled cloud, vision was cut off completely, and railen was now in his element.

Like lightning he took off running through the smoke, placing his left hand on the top of his sword sheath, and his right hand on the handle of Oni Akka. Weaving through the smoke he moved from side to side, to dodge any sort of attack that may be sent blindly into the smoke, his target was just ahead. Flanking his away around to the right he took in a deep breath, prepared his muscles and zoned in, now only feet from the mysterious opponent. The movements were so fluid, it was like a work of art unfolding right there in the woods. This was what he lived for, this was his purpose in life. Arching his back, his head lowered slightly and with lightning quick speed railen was upon his target. The man would only have seconds to see railen emerge through the smoke on his right side. Utilizing the Iaido sword technique, the cloud ninja unleashed Oni Akka. The razor sharp blade was sent directly at the mans upper shoulder, attempting to slash down his right arm. The release was so quick and fluid, and with the cover of the smoke, everything was set up perfectly.

His mind was at ease, his eyes locked on, he was in a blood furry that could not be stopped at this point. He was in euphoria, everything moved in slow motion. As the blade swung the boy only thought about what this man would send at him in return. He was not expecting to win already, that would be to boring, and as a result he hoped a wicked counter attack was in place. Hopefully this man would not disappoint.

PostSubject: Re: An unexpected meeting[fb]   Mon Nov 11, 2013 2:05 pm

So the fight began, after a little display of strength by each side. Indeed if an one would watch the spectacle, it would be something mesmerizing. At one side, smoke and the other sand. The forest would now witness two forces collide, two formidable and capable shinobi were about to go one on one. The birds that had returned to their homes in the nearby trees, flee away. Leaving their nests behind, that had been their home for so long. It was even obvious to those little creatures, that the battle won’t leave their homes and nearby trees intact and it would be foolish to stick around the two. So they flew, and the little rabbits, insects, snakes, monkey, every creature, big or small just ran, for safety.

Once more, the shinobi with the smoke based blood line, increased the smoke in the area. This time, it covered the entire area in a matter of seconds. Of coarse, Ryu wasn’t just going to stand and watch. As he saw the alarming increase in smoke, he began to increase the sand in the area as well. The sand around his feet increased as well, and the one in the air, mixed up with the smoke. Spreading around infused with Ryu’s chakra. Still continuing to grind the minerals under the ground, to avail more sand when needed. It was clear that it wouldn’t be easy taking on this shinobi with the sand in his gourde, he would need the help of mother earth, yet again. It appeared that the shinobi was appearing to take control of the battle ground, attempting to control the visual range, and making it difficult for Ryu to see. But, Ryu didn’t need to see his sand, and since it would be difficult to see, the same could apply for the other shinobi. Using the chance, Ryu had mixed up his sand with the smoke. So, it would prove useful when the time came. The two shinobi’s had their pieces in place. The game had begun.

As the smoke covered the area, everything became dark. Seeing through was indeed difficult, it would be a problem if Ryu just depended on his sight. The sand that he had already spread on the ground and in the air would prove useful after all. The shinobi began to move with great speed towards Ryu, without waiting a moment, Ryu focused the sand on the ground to cover the shinobi as he moved so carelessly. The expression “watch your step” would be a bit cliché here, but it did apply pretty well. The more closer he got to Ryu, the more sand covered the shinobi. Not only the sand from the ground, but also the sand in the air played it’s part, plus Ryu had plenty of sand in the gourde yet, not to mention the sand he had started to work on under ground. This is why Ryu didn’t rush in on this shinobi, at the moment, Ryu seemed to be at an advantage. Since the shinobi had taken the first step, and charged blindly at Ryu.

Due to his sand, he could sense the motion of the shinobi. It was still difficult to actually see him clearly, but he could sense where he was coming from. In a matter moments, the shinobi appeared right in front of Ryu. If he hadn’t spread the sand already, this would’ve proved quite fatal for him. But, even though he was incredibly fast, so was Ryu’s sand. Just when he appeared, Ryu without turning his face, just looked him right into his eye, thinking to himself, (‘I’ve been expecting you…’) Before the shinobi could actually make his slash with that deadly sword, Ryu didn’t need to make hand signs for the jutsu he had intended for. As already surrounded by most of the sand, and so close to Ryu, it didn’t take a split second. The sword drew uncomfortably close to Ryu’s shoulder,  yet he didn’t move a muscle. As he was in the perfect position, at that moment, the shinobi would feel his hands and body caught in something very uncomfortable. The whole body of the shinobi would get covered in sand. Squeezing him hard, and attempting to make him immobile. Just as a precaution, Ryu moved a step away from the man covered in sand. Since his chakra wasn’t one that would keep him strangled in the sand for long. But… Ryu wasn’t going to stand there for long, right as he makes sure that the shinobi had actually been caught, he would use another jutsu right away. The sand would squeeze the shinobi at an alarming rate, Ryu didn’t intend to make a fatal injury or cause a fatality. He just wanted the shinobi to be damaged enough for the battle to end. Yes, Ryu did enjoy the battle, but only those that didn’t last much long. He loved to dominate the battle field, but it would be nice to fight someone who was capable of making him sweat.
Another thing that happened:

The boys grey eyes stared intensely into the sand users eyes, a glare of lust for blood in his face. The attack had failed, which was to be expected, railen was not ready to cut the man down, and was glad he had skill enough to block it. Oni Akka rested against what seemed to be sand, blocking the strike from cutting down the man. He appeared to be teasing railen however, just standing there with a smirk on his face, as if he already knew the attack would fail. This was what he needed, someone who was to full of themselves, this gave the young swordsman fuel to keep going, to strive to be better.

He prepared his next move when something unexpected happened. He could feel pressure on his body, the muscles tightening in his body. Sand was creeping across his body, attempting to bind his in place. Fighting this sand user was going to be dangerous, he was faster than most ninja at his skill level, however this sand was even faster, it moved on its own, like it had its own mind. He could not allow himself to fall victim to whatever this sand was attempting to do, and as such needed to get away. With his left hand he completed the short string of seals needed to preform the jutsu. Closely watching the man, he noticed that he had moved back a step or to, trying to create space between them. So he did respect railens strength.

As the jutsu he preformed took effect, a large gust of wind pushed into the front of railens body, it would propel him at great speeds that it would dislodge the sand attempting to encase him, and send the boy flying backwards. He would fly back into the smoke at incredible speeds, which would cause the sand user to lose sight of him, since he dissapeared into the smoke. Using his sword he slowed himself so he did not fall over due to the speeds. Not even a second later he threw his sword into the darkness, hoping for it to stab into the man who was just there. this sand was going to be a problem and if he had any hopes of winning he needed to figure something out. So with a quick set of seals he took in a deep breath, and exhaled even more smoke. The smoke drifted out into the already existing smoke, mixing it in with itself.

The opponent would not be aware of this second layer of smoke drifting by him due to the already present smoke. Railen would use this to his advantage. Plus the smoke provided a cover for the now flying sword the attempted to find a mark. However this was only a simple diversion. The battle field was slowly being set up, he just needed to get this sand problem under control.

Mokusei, the great Tetsukage, strongest of the Senju and leader of one of the greatest villages known to mankind, was lost. Completely and utterly lost, he had no idea where he was. Well, that wasn't strictly true, he knew he was in a forest, but his location within the forest was unknown. He knew the ANBU were good, but where the hell was Ryu? He had left the village a few days back, and Mokusei had seen it happen. He had completed all his work for the day, and the people of his village were starting to think he was responsible, so he had gone out of his office, and had a few drinks and the the village inn. He participated in drinking contests, and won himself some money. Years of practise had honed Mokusei's drinking skills, and now barely anything got him tipsy, but not many people had seen this, as he pretended he was drunk. Once everyone though he was drunk enough, he stumbled out, ignoring the glares from the villagers, before he saw his ANBU leader walking out of the village in front of him.

He had stalked him from a distance, curious as to where he was going, as the guards at the doors didn't know. He had walked through and out of the Senju forest, and after that even further, until they arrived in this forest, a few days later, where Mokusei had lost Ryu. His sensory skills weren't as good as they should have been, so he couldn't find him either. But he could feel the Earth moving beneath his feet, getting stronger, and his visibility was dropping. Smoke had formed around part of the forest, and sand was being pushed into it. It was faint, but Mokusei knew Ryu's tactics from their battles, and he felt his tiny chakra in the ground, from the sand, because he knew it, and focused on it, discovering his missing captain's location, before rushing over there.

Jumping from tree branch to tree branch was more natural to Mokusei, being "of the trees" as some people called the Senju, and he constantly wondered if he was being betrayed, if Ryu had contacted others, and was planning on assassinating the Tetsukage, and destroying Seikogakure. Well, better the Kage knew of his rival's betrayal now, than when it was revealed in a grand dramatic twist of fate.

But as Mokusei neared the epicentre of the smoke and sand, his natural sensing abilities allowed him to detect both Ryu and another, of similar aptitudes, due to the fact that both were in an evenly fought battle as it were. Being in a forest was the best thing for a Mokuton user, and all the birds were gone, so he didn't have to worry about ruining their day, it had already been done. Ryu was using his sand to trap someone, no doubt sand that had been put everywhere without knowledge of the sand's existence for the opponent. Because he was facing where Ryu was, the opponent's actions were unclear to him, as they were blocked by his ANBU Head, but it now seemed though, that there was something coming this way... Something-

Oh shit!

The only words to escape Mokusei's mouth as a sword came flying past his ear, after he dodged out of the way and it lodged itself in a tree trunk. Mokusei, if he had seen the blade, could have easily dodged it, but within the smoke and everything else, it was difficult to see it, and it was all Mokusei could do not to get chopped in half. He now held the sword in his hands, but there was a chance the lack of sword would influence the fight, so he embedded it back inside the tree trunk, where it would naturally be, before moving to a better position, and sitting atop an overhanging tree branch, where the smoke wasn't able to reach.

PostSubject: Re: An unexpected meeting[fb]   Tue Nov 12, 2013 6:58 am

(OOC: Since you haven’t mentioned that Ryu was in Railen’s sight while he was being engaged by the sand, I’ll assume that he was more occupied with the sand and a way to get out of it. Leading to the fact that Ryu had left where had apparently moved, leaving a shadow clone standing in his place. While he moved to where Railen had come from. Also, the shadow clone has the already mentioned genjutsu trigger.)

Ryu didn’t think that the fight would end right away. It would be foolish to think so. Underestimating an opponent sometimes turns out to be the last mistake of a man’s life, in most battles. And Ryu intended to live forever. Making such a mistake, wasn’t an option if he wanted to do so. The sand did grab the attacking shinobi, giving him room to move away. As the shinobi thought of ways to get out of the trap Ryu had just put him into, he forgot to keep an eye on Ryu. Capitalizing on it, Ryu made a shadow clone, and moved to where Railen had come from. Now standing 5 meters away from the clone. Since it was the height of battle, he expected that Railen would attack the clone suspecting it was Ryu. And that would prove very useful, as it was yet another trap.

Ryu was right in predicting the movement of the shinobi. He impressively got free of the sand, that would have probably caused him serious damage. That was to be expected, his chakra was crying out loud that he was not to counted out just yet. The blast of wind resulted in him blowing away all the sand, so more sand that had been focused on him spread out into the air. That would rather prove useful, something that Ryu wasn’t expecting. The blast of wind also threw the shinobi himself backwards, indeed a  strong jutsu. For a moment Ryu thought that he was headed his way, intentionally and he had noticed the shadow clone. The shinobi came close enough, only 2 meters separated the two, when he launched his attack. Heading for the clone, due to sand in the air, it appeared that sensing Ryu would now be a little problem for the shinobi. He had done something that Ryu wasn’t able to sense nor see, thus Ryu was unaware of the second wave of smoke being released into the air.

The sand in the ground had been churning up more and more sand, it would indeed prove it’s worth, but, this wasn’t the time, he had this shinobi right where he wanted. When the sword headed for Ryu’s clone and went right through him, resulting in a little smoke as Ryu’s clone disappeared and the genjutsu triggered. Even though Ryu was right behind his opponent and already  he didn’t need to make any sudden movements. Beside he had been making sand underneath his feet, if he needed to attack. He was in the perfect position to do so.

But now, considering that the shinobi’s chances of discovering as to where Ryu stood wouldn’t be much of a problem, since the concept of direction would be a little vague for him, due to the genjutsu. Allowing Ryu, to surround the atmosphere around him and the shinobi with more sand.  The next move that Ryu would make, would be a blow worthy of his level. The reason why Ryu wasn’t attacking was because the sand that was on the shinobi, still a quite a few particles on the outfit of the shinobi, and thus on the sword of the shinobi that he had used to attack the clone. The particles were infused with Ryu’s chakra, so he sensed someone picking up the sword. The chakra signature however, wasn’t a foe that’s for sure. It was rather familiar, Ryu didn’t need to worry, his back was covered. The tetsukage had walked in the area.

(OOC: Sorry it took me awhile, been busy.)

Smoke and ash continued to pour from Railens mouth, filling the air and mixing in with the current smoke there. He was not worried about his sword at the moment, it would not be needed for now, seeing how this sand would keep him from getting to close to his opponent. So he was going to have to change his plan if he had any chance of winning this battle. Even though he did not have an exact location on his target, he could still sense the mans chakra in his smoke shroud, meaning this man was exactly where the young jounin wanted him to be. As the smoke expelled itself from his mouth he completed the same set of seals he did before, sending another jet of wind out to hit his body.

However this jet of wind was directed in a different location then last time. This time it started at his feet and sent him flying upwards, into the sky and out of the smoke. This served two purposes, the first was to get him out of the smoke, into the sky and out of the range of most of the sand. The second purpose was to spread out his ash and smoke even more, causing it to fill the entire area up more across the ground. However he noticed something strange as he ascended into the sky. The smoke that was still pouring from his mouth was forming a spiral type of tower from the ground to his mouth. His body was spinning around in circles, and yet he did not know. His mind began to wonder as to why he was spinning, it had to be some sort of trick that had been done to him during the fight. However this was going to have to wait, for now he was going to continue his plan.

Now, a few feet above the cloud of smoke, railen was being propelled by the smoke. In a second the smoke stopped pouring from his mouth, then was followed by a click of the boys teeth. The stream of smoke from his mouth was ignited, which in turn travelled down into the smokey abyss below, and erupting lighting the entire smoke screen on fire. Anything below would be caught on fire and would sustain moderate burning damage. It was not enough to burn the enemy to death, however it would be enough to end this fight if it fully landed. However the real purpose of this was to burn all of the sand in the area, crystalizzing it and removing it from the field. As the entire field caught fire railens body began to descend back down to earth. Holding out his hand the chakra between his sword and him trigged, retracing the sword back to his hand. After a second it unwedged itself from the tree, and flew through the air back towards railen.

He would await to see what happened next, it just a moment he would need to find a way to remove whatever this was on his body, causing him to spin. But until he hit the ground it would not be an issue. Oni akka would soon arrive back to its master and the kumo ninja would be back in the fight. However he could not say the same for his opponent. If he did not escape the smoke it would be a pain for him, and since the smoke clouded most of his senses, most likely he would not have seen it coming. He would await the mans next move.

I've been asked to make a ruling on this combat.

The verdict is that White Fox's moves went off, for the most part. The Genjutsu that was used on him (Next time please make clearer what your trigger was for it) affects his sense of direction, to the point where should he be walking, he'd keep going in circles. However nowhere in there does it affect his ability to mold chakra or cast jutsu. He however did not have a spiral appearance to his smoke trail, and is (To this point) unaware of the Genjutsu. He also was thrown somewhat off course when he attempted to throw himself towards Railen, due to the confused sense of direction.

The Genjutsu only affects the person's mind, and their sense of direction, it does not actually cause them to spin.

"Why must we stay here? Can't we just keep rollin'. Rollin'." A voice echoed from inside Mokusei's head as Mari, his sealed tailed beast, spoke to him. "I told you that you are not worthy to call em Mari. My name to you is the Four Tailed Lanced Armadillo, nothing more. Understand that mortal?" Laughing slightly under his breath, Mokusei apologised, "Right. Forgive me Four Tailed. But seriously, mortal? You can probably die too, you're not quite immortal. Besides, you're stuck with me now, so I'm afraid you'll have to learn to live with that. Hardly call that immortality." Looking back at what he could see of the battle, Ryu was using his abilities well, but the man was also fighting back. Smoke vs Sand didn't seem to be the only battle going on here, the sword from inside the tree was dislodging itself, and then flying back into the smoke, no doubt returning to it's owner.

Ryu, as far as could be seen, was fighting with his full power. This was not a simple spar between friends, this was a death match. All thoughts about Ryu betraying the village were gone. If this was someone he was fighting at this level, he was not going to have enough power to destroy the village, or anything similar, afterwards. The opponent of the battle was similarly fighting with strength, and it looked like an even match. Knowing now that Ryu was not becoming a traitor, and that he probably had just gone for a wander, not to mention how much of a pain if could be if the Four Tailed didn't get her way, Mokusei had to leave. One did not simply prohibit the whims of a Bijuu, especially if you valued your life. Now knowing what he had to do, Mokusei shouted towards Ryu, [color:1e82=996633]"Right, turns out you're not actually betraying the village Ryu. Sorry, had to check. Well, my friend is getting restless, so I'm gonna head back to the village. If you need me, I'll find some way to make that easier one day. If you don't come back in a week, I'll come get you. Have fun fighting, and try not to kill each other. This guy shows promise." Being the only person other than Kei and Mokusei, Ryu would know who Mokusei's "mutual friend" was: The Four Tailed Lanced Armadillo, so he'd understand why Mokusei had to leave. At least, he hoped he did.

The smoke covered everything that was already barely visible. It wouldn’t be smart to stay in a zero visibility zone, plus now due to this excessive smoke cloud, Ryu hadn’t much of an idea as to where the opponent was. He was pretty sure that his genjutsu was triggered and a moment ago, that shinobi was standing right in front of him. Only a few meters ahead, but there was a sudden gush of wind. Which blew of the sand near him that Ryu was using to pinpoint his opponents location. He wasn’t aware that the shinobi had already made his way out of the dark smoke cloud.

There was something off about the situation, the wind gust wasn’t meant to be an attack, like last time. It was more like he just used it for some other purpose, but what? May be he wanted to disappear and just needed the sand to blow away?  But how would have he known that Ryu was locating him via the sand he had been dispersing in the air. I mean the fight was intense enough for this to left unnoticed, but as much prowess this opponent had showed till now. He wouldn’t be surprised if he had. But, for now, it didn’t look like an attempt to get rid of the sand. It felt like something more, but what?

In that little moment, when Railen made his way out of the smoke and prepared to unleash his fire based jutsu. Ryu analyzed the events that had happened until now, so as to understand where he stood and what might happen. The only thing that was off was the smoke, why would someone risk their own visibility? It’s not like he was seeing as much as Ryu was. So the smoke was causing a visual problem for him too, yet he continued to increase it, so it served a higher purpose. At that moment, Ryu realized what was happening. He wasn’t the only one setting the stage for an all out attack, this guy had been doing exactly that before him. He smiled, indeed the individual lived up to his words and if the fight would end up as a death match, it wouldn’t end up pretty for either of them. He hears his Kage, saying that he is no longer suspected of treason. Wait what? He was being suspected of treason? And also that he is now leaving, Ryu sighs. Of coarse he knew why he had to do it, that annoying bijuu of his. Though he understood that the kage trusted him to be capable enough to tackle the matter by himself.

And then he felt it, the sound of flame, the increasing heat all of a sudden. He wouldn’t be able to see it and would’ve taken a complete hit from the attack if it wasn’t for the sand that he had already dispersed in the air. As the chakra infused sand began to disappear, all of a sudden, Ryu realized that there was something headed straight for him and it was capable enough to eliminate the sand. Since, it can’t just be water as the temperature around him was increasing rapidly, either it was lightening or fire. As  a  reflex, the sand that he had gathered, shaped on top of him in the shape of a wall, with the thickness of 5 inches. The shape of the wall would be like an arc, moving above Ryu, from his left to the right, starting from the ground and eliminating on it as well. It's only purpose would be to provide the very little moment needed for Ryu to disappear. That was all the sand that he had dispersed and at the same time, now it came the time to use the sand that he had been putting into the ground to make more and more sand. The ground underneath him had now completely turned to sand, so using his KKG, it opened and Ryu phased through the ground. Before the flame could completely burn all of the smoke. The sand dispersed in the air and the wall would end up crystallized, and the sand left in gourd and the little dispersed at his feet, along with Ryu would be submerged in the ground, that had been turned to sand.

As the smoke cloud will disappear, leaving traces of the crystallized sand. Ryu will make a sand clone, before it settles and visibility returns to normal. The sand clone, will play the classic possum technique. It would appear that the clone, that has Ryu’s chakra, is burnt badly and has ended up fainting. While Ryu would be submerged in the sand right below it. Awaiting his opponent’s next move. Also, the process of producing more and more sand under the ground would continue. Though already Ryu had a river of sand to control at his command by now, he just wanted to make sure that when his turn comes. His attack counts the most. But of coarse, Ryu wouldn’t know what’s going on above the ground, since he’s completely submerged and sand clones aren’t like wood clones who are capable to communicate with the original over long distances. So Ryu, took care of that problem, by using the third eye jutsu. The eye would remain hidden at a little distance from the sand clone. And it would serve two purposes, one was to of coarse keep an eye on the clone as to what the opponent was going to do next but Ryu needed to locate the opponent first. That is what it would do first, look around and find Railen.
