PostSubject: Hyoushin (Icequake)   Sat Jun 01, 2013 6:53 pm

Name: Hyoushin (Icequake)
Appearance:
Hyoushin:

First Phase:

Second Phase:

Hyoushin is a unique sword, comprised completely of chakra-embedded ice. In its three different modes, it takes on three different looks. In its norrmal form, Hyoushin resembles a Chinese blade with two prongs at its tip. Its metal hands is wrapped in a black grip and its hilt takes on the design of fish fins. It also has a blue orb of ice in its hilt. Its blade is 3.5 feet long and its handle is 1.25 feet long. In its first phase, Hyoushin attaches itself to the user's hand with ice and it grows longer by a foot and wider by half a foot. It also takes a crystal-like design, although retaining the shape of a sword. The "fish fins" merge and move to the front of the sword and the blue orb becomes pure ice and gives the sword a blue aura. In its second phase, Hyoushin removes all blue from its blade, giving it an extremely pure look. The only blue coming from the sword is from the blue ice orb. The only thing that keeps Hyoushin looking like a sword is its vague blade and handle. Although the sword looks fragile, because the ice is so condensed, the sword is stronger than its previous modes.

Rank: A
Range: Normal - 3.5 ft.
1st Phase - 4.5 ft.
2nd Phase - 7.5 ft.
Max. Range of weapon - 40m
Requirements:
Main Specialty - Kenjutsu
Advanced Element - Ice
Special Abilities: Upon normal combat, the blade would have the regular strength and edge of a normal sword (8 on the Mohs scale), though it's durability was far superior. With the application of chakra, the blade would be given two main abilities known as phases. The first phase allows the user to increase the size of the blade, as well as alter the shape slightly, as ice would extend from the base of the blade, across it, and also onto the users hands. The ice also gets harder than its previous form (9 on the Mohs scale). This requires an E rank amount of chakra to be paid every other post. - The second phase would allow the transfer of ice, such as striking the ground which would bring up numerous strikes around the user, or swinging towards a distance and launching smaller needles of ice or larger sharp daggers. Also, the sword can absorb water around it, freezing it and increasing the swords length by up to 3 feet. Since the ice is more condensed that its other forms, the amount of chakra is larger per unit area, thus increasing the hardness of the sword (9.5 on the Mohs scale). The user must expend a B rank amount of chakra to keep the sword in this phase or it will go back to its first phase. Hyoushin's side affect is that more the blade's second phase is used, the harder it is for the user to fight. At first, the blade will only create frost across the user's sword arm, but in time, the cold would move through the body of the user, and slow their breath, and their reaction time, making it difficult to fight. - If they continued to use the blade for an extended period of time, without break, they'd have to deal with hypothermia, and frost bite on their hands.

Post 1-3: Frost starting on the hand
Post 4: Frost up to the elbow
Post 5: Frost up to the shoulder, Speed at 95%
Post 6: Cold into the left arm, Speed at 90%, Strength at 95%
Post 7: Cold into the limbs, Speed at 85%, Strength at 90%, Reflexes at 95%
Post 8: Breath slowed down, Speed at 70%, Strength at 85%, Reflexes at 80%
Post 9: Severe hypothermia, Speed at 60%, Strength at 70%, Reflexes at 60%
Post 12: Collapse

Origin: There were once two swords: Hyoushin (Icequake) and Kajiarashi (Firestorm). Hyoushin is the legendary sword of ice, able to transfer ice from its blade into the ground as spikes and into the air as needles and daggers as well as absorbing water to increase its size. Kajiarashi is the legendary sword of fire which can create and control fire through the air with its swings as well as act as a genjutsu trigger. This old tale says that there was a battle between two fierce warriors. The first warrior believed in beliefs and love would carry the way to peace. The second warrior believed that aggression would bring peace to the world. The two warriors fought hard and when their battle came to a close, it was a draw. They kept fighting until they could no more. They felt the need to continue their fight. There was a sage on the other side of the village who could help solve their problem. The sage decided to take their souls and put them into weapons so their descendants could fight for them. He placed the first warrior into a blue orb of ice which represents his understanding and integrity. He placed the second warrior into a red orb of fire which represents his willpower and courage. The two orbs were placed into swords and it is said that the two warriors give these swords their power. The swords were used only by the worthy but were lost when the Finger of God devastated the world. Many are on the search for these swords, but only the persistent and the strong will be able to wield the swords of ice and fire.
