The lab was the first thing to be built, and was done so in secret. It was in the far corner of the cruddy compound, that was only accessible through an elevator, which in turn was only accessible through the classic "bookcase secret lever". However clique it was, it served its purpose. This lab was going to be the home of the many experiments that the clan was going to perform - to both damage their enemies and enhance themselves.

Today the Queen, and Clan Founder, was scheduled to meet one of her members. His name was Hotoke, a child was a sad past. She wondered if it was sadistic she was meeting him in an experimental laboratory...Would that end with bad results with the boy? Regardless, he would need to grow up and face the fears he experienced as a child.

Her newly painted nails touched the book on the bookcase, titled "The war to end all wars", and suddenly it moved aside, showing a shiny new elevator with its doors opening smoothly, letting cold air out into the dusty room. After a short ride down to the lower level, she was there. The doors slide open again, revealing a large lab that was laid out to be around 1700 square feet. Several different laboratories laid around, with four different patient rooms along with a morgue. This place was a scientists or a doctors paradise. And it better well damn be, she paid a fortune.

The Queen looked around as she walked around in her loose floral sun dress, before simply sitting down in one of the doctors rolling chairs, waiting for her adopted family member to arrive at his new work station.

Hotoke didn't quite know the place he was going to, but he was given specific instructions to meet with the Queen, and his clan's matriarch, Lady Fiora, and he was ecstatic about it. He hoped it wasn't anything bad, but he had tried to do only good things for his new family, so it couldn't have been that. As he walked through the compound, he found a very old room, it was dusty and not well kept, but there in the corner stood a rustic looking book case. It seemed only very slightly off in the room, as it's appearance seemed like it was in the room the whole time, but the collection of books was a bit too large to have been left here by the previous owners, as someone who collected this many books wouldn't simply leave his collection at his old home.

Regardless, Hotoke made his way to the book case, and scanned the books with his eyes. As he did so, he quickly found the book he was looking for, and reached for it. His face grimaced when he noticed that he was slightly too short to reach the book, and he sighed, not really thinking about how it was a sort of cruel joke. He jumped a bit and made sure to tug the book, and he could hear the gears and such turning, moving the books swiftly to the side, revealing an elevator. Hotoke stepped in, and pressed the button, watching the doors close in front of him as he descended into the darkness. He shuddered a bit, but didn't know why, but he would soon find out it was a laboritory.

As the elevator reached the floor of the lab, it opened to sterile white and chrome everywhere, but the feint smell of patients and dead skin wasn't there, yet. Akuma barely remembered his time at the missing ninja's medical facility, and it didn't even look the same. His was scrounged together with whatever he could swipe from the city before he left, this one was top notch. Hotoke swallowed to get the knot out of his stomach, as his eyes found Lady Fiora. She didn't look mad, and there were no visual queues to suggest that she was going to have him experimented on down here, so he sighed in relief, and then walked over to her.

"Good Evening, Lady Fiora." Hotoke would bow, trying to be as courteous as possible, but his eyes kept wandering around to the awesome sets of machinery and equipment. Fingerprinters, bags for blood and plasma, petri dishes to culture bacteria, all of these fun toys almost had Hotoke drooling at the mouth. He straightened himself, and then addressed Fiora once again. "You wanted to see me down here for something important, Lady Fiora?" He put on the cutest face he could, but this was mostly on accident.

She heard the elevator head back towards down to the underground level, and the Queen stood up from her leaning position and straightened her dress with the palms of her hands as she inhaled the cool and pristine air. The boy had a troubled past, and the Queen had made sure to give him the life that he wanted, and then even more so. The kid was given everything he could have wanted, and the same would be in his work environment. It did strike her odd she was starting him so young, but she didn't ignore talent when it was looking at her right in the face.

The doors opened, and the boy walked out from within and quickly showed respects. Flora grinned, showing her pearly whites, and approached the boy. She cupped his face and kissed both sides of his cute cheeks and even pinced them a little. "Ah Hotoke, so glad you made it to our new home," She started as she smiled into his eyes.

"Even though it is a bit bad at the moment, I made sure the lab was the first thing we built so that you would feel at home." she explained as she ruffled his hair a bit, she always had her family in mind in every decision she made.

She walked over to one of the chemistry tables that had various ingredients stored already. "I called you here today to look at your new place, and to also give you your first mission." She said ass he looked at him, considerably more serious this time. "I am in need of a deadly paralysis poison, and was wondering if you could help me make it.." She asked as she folded her arms.

Hotoke would pay his respects, and then blush, putting a large grin on his face as the Queen pinched his cheeks a bit and kissed them. He let out a cute noise, almost reminding someone of those cat people, when they purr and such. Regardless, as she ruffled his hair a bit, Hotoke remained entirely focused on what she had to say. This was their new home, and she completed the laboratory before the other parts of the compound, saying that she was trying to make Hotome feel right at home. He knew this wasn't true, however, because a ruler thinks of the overall people first, and the individual second, especially in Fiora's case, because she was a very brilliant leader, knowing how to use others and still reward them, inspire them to do greatness with her life. She probably built this laboratory to further strengthen her clan, which was a smart move, as there was talk of the Legion, and the bounties on their heads, the Azai clan, which were full of diplomats and businessmen, needed some sort of edge. Hotoke was much smarter than he looked, and realized he was a tool in Fiora's arsenal, but then again, that's what he wanted, to be able to help out the family that saved him in any way he could, which was definitely what was going to happen.

Hotoke then examined her next words, as she said she would give him his first mission for the family or city, Hotoke was happy with either, right there and now. The next words were expected, as Hotoke thought beforehand, she wanted him to give the clan an edge in whatever storm was approaching. This far below ground, it was also safe from most prying eyes, minus that of the Hyuuga clan, but their Byakugan should be focusing on current tasks, not scanning deep below ground for something that might not even exist. He would need to be sure not to have any Hyuuga clan members anywhere near the compound, as a quick scan with the Byakugan would most likely reveal the hidden passageway. Regardless, Hotoke would accept his mission gladly, putting on a smile again for her when she mentioned the poison. A deadly paralysis poison, eh? Hotoke wasn't sure if he could make a poison that could cause paralysis and kill a person, but he could try. The city had access to all sorts of nasty things that could be used to whip up a protein based neurotoxin that would simply paralyze the whole body. When the paralysis reached the lungs, and made them fail to operate, asphyxiation would set in and finish them off. A rather slow death, but very effective, if they didn't have access to any antidote. This would mean that Hotoke would have to get something from an exotic place, so that normal anti-venom wouldn't work very well against it.

Hotoke was deep in thought for a split second, his mind working very fast, before he spoke to the Queen once more. "Of course, Lady Fiora, I can do that for you. I have a few concerns to bring up though."

Hotoke's face became serious, which was strange for the cute little child, and made him look extremely sinister, almost evil.

"Most of the poisonous animals and substances found within the city have had anti-venom made to fight them. With this in mind, I would like to ask a separate mission as well."

Hotoke would begin to pull a small scroll out of his bag, which had a very detailed map of the land between Takigakure and Otogakure. Hotoke would then show this map to the queen, where she would notice a small "X" in between the two villages.

"This map was one of the things that I got to keep from the laboratory that held me last time. According to my research, there is a great animal boneyard slightly east of the spot marked. The forest is filled with nasty creatures, but the real goal is the marked spot. There is a swamp there that's muck is said to be so dense that no one can get out. However, according to the map, there are only trees in that area. First, I thought it was a great tar pit, but I asked an old man who had been there, and he stated the liquid was simply murky and purple. So, I can only theorize there is something in the water that makes it instantly paralyze those that come into contact with it. I assume that is is a bacteria, working together with some sort of predator. The bacteria paralyzes, the predator eats, and the bacteria gets the remains. I can't confirm this without getting a sample, but I wish to go as part of a team. Or, if you wish, I could simply use puffer fish venom mixed with salamander glands, but that doesn't sound as cool, does it?"

The Queen was pleased to see the boy felt welcomed and wanted among his clansmen, whether they be by blood or bond. She listened as the boy opened his mouth and began to reply to her request, and raised her eyebrows when he voiced his concerns about the mission she had just gave him. Her eyebrows went even further up when the boy went into a special zone, almost like a maniacal gaze as he began to speak again.

Suddenly the boy had a scroll sprawled out, marking this and that and speaking quickly as if he was suddenly excited. She let the words sink in. Apparently there was a place between two former villages, that held a swamp. Within the swamp, to her understanding, was the home of many hostile creatures. Within the swamps there was a pit with a special ooze. She was impressed with the child. She smirked when he finished, with the comment about the puffer fish.

"As funny as that is, the targets could easily find an antidote to a puffer fish venom. I plan on poisoning a bottle of wine that I will be giving the Legion as a gift during a wedding ceremony. I need the poison, and a large amount of antidote ready as soon as possible. Is there anyone that you would prefer to escort you? I know a few guides within the city that could help you there and back..If you trust them." She said as she crossed her arms and leaned against the table as she gazed at the map.

It used to be so full of life, this land they lived on. Now it was full of barbarians and old artifacts..What a shame.

Hotoke had gotten into a bit of a fervor about the special ooze, as eating a bit of that would allow his ooze to become a bit stronger overall, and also allow him to create the poison she was after. The antidote was also rather simple, considering the antidote for anything was fairly simple, as long as you had a relatively large amount of the venom handy. Still, this was going to be fun, and as Fiora asked if there was anyone in particular he wanted for an escort, Hotoke's face got a bit more somber. He didn't really know anyone in the village, and he also didn't have any friends from the academy either. He was fairly sad about not really going out and meeting new people, but he was trying to focus on his medical ninjutsu and his ability with his bloodline. Still, it couldn't hurt to have a few friends.

"I don't really know anyone, so I couldn't say. Also, I trust anyone you trust, Lady Fiora."

Hotoke would give her a smile, and then go back to looking at the map. He wanted so badly to see the great swamp that had people making legends up for it. A strange being pulling people under from which there was no escape, all the interesting myths surrounding that place would be awesome to discover. Gathering a few animal specimens would be fairly interesting as well, considering all the interesting creatures that were lurking within the forests. Hotoke would then simply look around, and gather up all of the knowledge he could about the lab. He really needed to work on the medical jutsu he had planed. He had written out all of the knowledge one would need to implement the jutsus, but he still needed to actually add chakra to them and actually test their functions, so that he could refine them. He was simply excited for this mission, considering it seemed that he got the go ahead from the Queen to go and satiate his curiosity by going on a trip to a seemingly forbidden swamp.

"I should be getting ready!"

Hotoke would then exit the building after the meeting, and prepare for a long trip. [exit]
