Mikael looked around, giving a weary sigh. It looked like rain was going to be arriving soon… clouds were arriving, and it appeared he was without shelter.

”Probably a good idea to buy some more raw materials for my jutsu. But first, I should probably get my armour repaired.” Mikael thought to himself. Shaking his head to focus, he looked from his spectacle-adorned eyes around. The Donburi District… it had left him with a feeling of awe when he arrived, and he was still in awe a day later. Of course, he had seen nothing like it where he was from, the great “wilderness” outside Kitai. Only thing close to one of these buildings was the ruin of a “great village” near his home, and that was at the highest around fifteen metres tall.

The buildings here were monsters. Buildings rose high into the sky, built upon each other in a beautiful display of architecture of ingenuity. Signs advertising all manner of products were nestled on the walls of stores; and the occasional odd graffiti could be seen here and there.

Clunking down the street in his heavy armour, Mikael was shaken from his reverie by something in his peripheral vision. A thuggish man was approaching him slowly, trying not to attract attention. Dressed in nondescript, loose clothing, he carried a wooden club at his side.

Well crap. Looks like he was about to get mugged…

Pushing forwards through the crowd, he picked up speed. Already he could see three other men coming in from different directions, all aiming for him. This would not turn out well…

It was a hobby of Dare's to just observe the city. It had begun as training, but now he often used it was a relaxation exercise. The different districts had different rhythms and speeds. It was almost never boring to watch people as they went about their lives, completely unaware that they were being observed.

Today for his name, Dare called himself "Leaf" because it was the first thing that had caught his attention that morning. Another name that meant nothing to anyone, but would serve a fine purpose. His attention had been caught by a man in a suit of armor that he chose to follow. Not many people wore armor of that type anymore. He was curious why this man chose to.

He saw the muggers before the man seemed to notice them, and he followed as they managed to chase him down an alley. Leaf considered for a moment whether he should help the armoured stranger, or just let him work it out. Deciding that a random act of kindness wouldn't hurt he waited until the men had clumped up and were preparing to attack the man. Then he threw a kunai with a smoke bomb attached into the middle of them, the bomb exploding and creating a cloud of confusion among the muggers.

Leaping behind one of them he gave him a swift punch kick to the back of the knee, and then a hard punch to the kidneys. The thug was caught by surprise and fell into a heap on the ground with a loud cry of pain. The other two reacted to that, but Leaf had already completed his Kagebōshi no Jutsu and melted into the shadows of one of the two men. A few moments later the smoke had cleared and the two men were standing around, looking confused, their comrade on the ground groaning in pain.

Unfortunately, three more men had just come down the alley to join the muggers. Apparently it was an entire gang. Lovely. Leaf hoped the armoured stranger would be of help for this, because he wasn't certain that he could handle five at once alone.

Shopping Center Scramble

Every time it happened, the balding man would look her way with an expression of mixed disgust and disbelief, as if the sight that fell upon his eyes was any more disparaging as the last time, when in fact nothing really changed. He did it again, as Vi exercised her gargantuan hands and crushed the metal can into a compact ball as effortlessly as though it were newspaper on the verge of being tossed out. Similarly, the young woman would toss the piece of scrap over the shoulder where it would land with a couple light plinks on the pub floor to lie with the rest of its fallen brethren soda cans in a bygone pile. Well, it was in the middle of the floor and no one really had put it outside of their mind aside of Vi herself, who proceeded to loudly tap the bar with those bulky metal digits and call the tender to her service: "Another, good sir!" came the obnoxious demand, seeming to be one of few voices bold enough to sound in the immediate room, where Vi's presence overshadowed everybody else's. Right now, the recently commissioned police officer Vivian Levoule was doing no less than abusing her stature, requesting each and every drink of hers to be free or else. There was no legality behind her threat, but it seemed everybody here was too stupid to realize that, a fact that Vi shamelessly abused.

The balding man put down whatever he was doing and obeyed, quickly grabbing one of the seldom-marketed soda cans off the shelf and sliding it down toward Vi where she caught it easily within the large mitt of hers—his specialty was liquor, but there was no way he'd serve an actual drink to someone underage. Vi didn't mind, as she used her other currently unadorned hand to open the can and begin chugging it down. Shock, one of a pair of Herculean gauntlets wielded by the female, lie dormant at the foot of the barstool she sat on, unlocked and opened up in case she had to rush to put it on. It was okay to leave it there, because these people were far too scared to try any funny business. Yeap, Vi was being a bully and everybody here was just shutting up and dealing with it; she'd leave eventually, and when that point came they could all return to their normal lives, normal conversations, and normal profit in the bartender's case. They all hoped that moment was soon, and they could be sure to thank to commotion that started outside, causing Vi's head to swivel and her ears to perk up.

Pealing girly screams everywhere, running, a smokescreen blocking any view from within the bar: Vi knew instantly what this was about, and she could already feel that nostalgiac anxiousness welling up within as she instinctively got out of her seat. Whatever foresight the young woman had had to leave 'Shock' unlocked and ready to go was a blessing, though there was no way she could have predicted it. Irregardless, her hand slid into the mechanical behemoth with ease, causing the various locks to click into place around her arm and mold to her as more than just weapons, but extensions of her natural self. She wiggled her fingers to test the machinations, which in turn caused the heavy metal digits of the gauntlet to mirror her movements: Epic. Now, she enclosed her hands into fists and banged them together a couple times to get the adrenaline flowing, a cocksure smile breaking out on her face. Now this was the life, chuggin' soda and punching bad guys, and it never would get old. With a stride all her own, she made her way through the room toward the exit. And, all the bartender could think of was that finally, that freeloader had left.

Outside, the only thing that would tell tale of Vi's arrival was the chime of the bell caused by opening the door of the bar, though there was too thick a cloud of smoke to see who or what had used that door. Whether or not such things could be determined, it wouldn't take long for someone to feel Vi's wrath, and that would be one of several lowlifes that had been disoriented by the smoke. He'd only see a flash of it before his face was enclosed by a giant metal hand. With a simple squeeze of her grip, Vi knocked him out like a light and tossed him aside much like the discarded soda cans from before. It was unintentional, but the man ended up being thrown in the direction of another, sending them both crashing to the floor accompanied by grunts of pain. The second was still conscious, but stuck under the weight of his friend. As he struggled to move sleeping beauty off of him, the smoke would soon clear and reveal the form of his attacker before him, leaving him wide-eyed like a deer caught in the headlights of a speeding car.

She was tall, lean, animate in more ways than one. She had ostentatiously pink hair that fell around her shoulders and back in an uncombed state. The thug couldn't see her eyes through the blue-tinted lens of the stylish goggles she was wearing, but the ample smirk was clear as day. He could note the flamboyant suit of armor she was wearing, or the fact that at any other time he'd find this woman quite attractive, but his eyes would not stray away from her guns—the hulking metal gauntlets she wore, of course. Vi cocked her fist back and aimed at the semi-incapacitated foe, who began to babble in fear. Then, with a final "Seeya!" she slammed her fist into his face and sent him into dreamland instantly. Admiring her work, she slid her goggles back up onto her head and turned to face whoever was last standing. Thugs, shinobis, bystanders alike—Vi didn't differentiate. She held her fists up and challenged them all to cause more trouble, "Any other volunteers?"

Mikael heard the commotion behind him, and jumped a little in his own armour at the voice that sounded out. A strong female voice could be heard.

“Any volunteers?”

“Oh… crap…” Mikael cursed softly, because lucky him, looked like he had company. Letting his chain slide down from his right gauntlet, he let it out to about two metres in length. That should be enough to deal with the thugs, but whoever talked, well… might need the full five metres. Turning slowly around, Mikael gave a strained grin, looking at the four thugs behind him.

“Hi there… you wouldn’t be happening to be looking for some other armoured man, would you?” Smiling awkwardly, a bead of sweat fell down the side of his face. His expression went from somewhat hopeful to melancholy in a heartbeat at the thug’s answer.

“Give your ryo to us, and those fancy pouches, and you won’t get a bolt in your eye.” Indeed, one of the thugs had a small crossbow aimed directly at Mikael’s face, and his gaptoothed smile made it seem very clear that he was itching to use it. Bringing his hands up slowly, he tried to attract attention to him, and not his battle chain, which he had quietly dropped the full length of (and was still attached to his armour). Hopefully they interpreted it as a sign of “I have dropped my weapon”. Unbeknownst to them, Mikael had the ability to manipulate magnetic fields… without handseals.

“Alright, alright, here…” he threw a pouch of iron sand to the one with the crossbow. The thug, eyes going wide, cradled his arms to catch the iron sand. With a solid thought, Mikael focused on the iron sand in the pouch, imagining a metal spike thrusting towards the thug as he got it. (Used Iron Sand Commandment, Rank D)

The sand obeyed, and the thug looked down at the seven inch long iron spike now embedded in his chest. Coughing blood, the would-be mugger collapsed, dying or gravely wounded. Without a ranged threat, Mikael used a small amount of chakra to bring his iron chain dashing to his hands, and went into a fighting stance. (Used Magnetic Metal Commandment, Rank D)

“Your friend’s wounded… now please go away.”

When the behemoth came lumbering out the alley door from the bar, Leaf took an almost immediate dislike to her. However he couldn't exactly do anything about it. He was attached to the shadow of the man that had been thrown, and thankfully it had intersected with one of the shadows of the other attackers. He could see from his current vantage point eight more thugs just outside the alley, rushing to join. This was becoming problematic.

Given that he couldn't tell if the armoured woman was friend or foe, he was hesitant to try anything too obvious. So he prepared another smoke bomb in his hidden form and was waiting for the other thugs to join. He didn't notice the armoured man attack until he heard one of the thugs cry out. Glancing over, he saw the spike jutting out of the man's chest. Leaf recognized the trick from some stories his adopted father had told him. Clever.

Hearing their friend cry out, the eight thugs rushed to join. Now there was ten of them, all shoved up at the entrance of the alley. It was obvious that a few were worried about the woman, and they considered the man a threat now too since taking down one of them so quickly. But they were all distracted, so Leaf used that to his advantage. He released his smoke bomb as he released his jutsu and appeared in the middle of the men.

It was an incredibly tight squeeze, seeing as they somehow were all in a two meter round area. But it was something that Dare could work with. He used his Howl of the Wind jutsu and the men directly around him all clutched their ears and some even fell. The ones closest to Leaf would have a lot of trouble even seeing straight, and the ones near the edge would at least have considerable trouble hearing anything again for a few hours at the least. The woman was right on the edge of his jutsu, and so she would likely be unable to discern any particular noises for a minute as well, but he didn't care much about her yet.

Taking almost no time between his jutsu and his attack, Leaf used his Flurry of Blows style to begin striking down foes. His blows were aimed for spots that would do the most non-lethal damage for the least effort. Knees, kidneys, solar plexus, throat, elbows, noses. All of these spots were sensitive enough that a good shot to them would be enough to put most untrained opponents down fairly easy. They had the added advantage of letting the men live, and hopefully learn a lesson too.

Shopping Center Scramble

Vi's sky blue eyes shifted to and fro between the dozen people that dared stay at the scene of the crime, which was especially a brave prospect while Vi was present. Maybe her reputation had not yet spread far enough, because she knew for a fact that the lowlifes in the Tonkatsu District were scared into a state of awe for the most part. It was nice, but then if everybody knew how fond you were of punching things, where would the fun be in that if they all ran away? There'd be none, she mentally commented to herself, as her smirk only seemed to grow more twisted upon her face. Now, the key was figuring out which ones were the bad guys and which ones were innocent bystanders; Vi would beat them all to a bloody pulp indiscriminately if she had her way, but she wanted to avoid citations this time. Though out of all the people here, of which there were more than she had fingers on her hands to count with, she knew one thing was for sure. There was no way the nerd with the glasses in the middle of this mess had the capacity for being a bad guy—she wouldn't believe it. The others? They were all up for grabs.

A huge mistake on one of the thug's part was determining that bit for her, instead of making her work for it. With a 'Give your ryo to us, and those fancy pouches, and you won’t get a bolt in your eye,' the marksman of the group had just made Vi's job easier. She was about to respond with another bumptious one-liner, but that guy with the glasses beat her to the punch—a rare occurrence indeed. Playing a trick she herself would have fell for, Vi would stare in disbelief as rather than resist the kid would surrender his money to the crook that she was seconds away from coming over to beat up. The sack was in the air, spiraling wildly toward the enemy as he made a basket with his arms to catch it. Then suddenly it bursted, revealing an iron spike that impaled itself into the poor guy's chest quite mercilessly. He fell to the ground in an unceremonious fashion, deader than dead, and it took Vi a while to come to terms with what happened. It would seem nearly everybody was a little in shock trying to realize the reality of the situation, and it was that pause to open the doorway for chaos: Yet again, the scene was blanketed in a gray fog.

Peeved, Vi would bring her goggles back down to cover her eyes and help her see through this thick smoke. She knew it was very much artificial, created by a smoke bomb, and now this time she had a very rough idea on who caused it. She'd been watching everybody in front of her, and although her eyes hadn't been focused on the perpetrator, she saw where the explosion of smoke had originated. Huffing indignantly, Vi pushed deeper into the cloud with a keen eye, listening to the various sounds of shuffling and voices. As she was listening intently, her ear drums were suddenly blasted with a high-pitched tone that caused her to stop and clench her jaw in pain, deafening her on the spot. Yet, it did not give her pause for long, as it only spurred her harder to find her prey and pounce with the utmost violence. Several times she almost tripped over the corpse of a thug who was once standing before the smoke had appeared, but she found no hint of the triggerman behind it. Vi stumbled through the entire cloud without catching sight of him, very much to her frustration, very much because of the stupid smoke.

Turning around and cocking her fist back, she cried out in slight anger, and threw her fist forward with all her might at the edge of the smoke. You'd think, how stupid can you get, punching smoke like it will do anything? You mad, kid? But then, Vi was a very unique person when it came to punching. As she released her haymaker, she released too her fury, her frustration, and most importantly her chakra. Her giant metal fist hit nothing solid, and yet there was so much physical force behind the empowered strike that the power didn't stop there. A wave of kinetic energy jetted out of the young woman's fist, which was normally invisible, but could be indirectly seen now as it blasted the cloud of smoke away with ease. Chances were that the sneak who had created this smoke was still within, which was perfect. If he was, he'd not have much of a chance to see this coming before it hit like a truck, pulsing through his body and jolting the muscles. It'd disorient him and stun his body for a short time as it was forced to deal with the intense shock, if it hit of course (And it most likely would).

It'd be perfect, as the shadows were cast away and the prey she was hunting was left in the open—Vi gave no hesitation, choosing to fully capitalize on the moment here and now. Whether or not he was caught up in her shockwave-inflicted stupor, Vi would launch herself in a lunge toward him with one hand outstretched. She'd make it there in due time, and try to capture his waist in the massive grip of her left hand as she slammed it into the ground, trapping him between cool steel and dirty cement. If she managed to capture him in this predicament, her free fist would rise and pull back for the finisher, leaving only this opportunity for words. For yes, Vi only suspected him a villian for causing trouble. Maybe she'd not made it clear enough that she was police around here, and that even if you tried to help you could be interfering with 'official police work', which was bad. But, what was the point of telling your victim who you were when you were just going to knock their lights out in a second? If he said nothing, she'd just throw the punch.

Mikael took a step back, waiting to see if the thugs would back off. Looking at his multiple foes, all looking at him with varying stages of anger and hate, he caught a glimpse of a girl a couple years older than he stomping towards the fray. With a unique style of armour and two gigantic metal fists she seemed to swing around with little effort, the woman obviously meant trouble. Darting from her to the muggers with his eyes

As such, he was immediately taken by surprise when his vision was blurred by thick gray smoke. After several moments of coughing, he was subjected to a piercing noise that filled the air, almost like the high-pitched cry of an eagle. Shaken by these events, he felt his adrenaline start pumping full throttle now. Mikael began backing off slowly, he began swing his chain around, slowly gaining the momentum necessary to use such a weapon effectively.

Attached firmly to his right gauntlet, he began swinging it above his head, like a toy on a string… however, this “toy” left exciting varieties of blunt AND piercing trauma on its victims. Looking around for any takers, ears still buzzing quite a bit from that noise, he began gauging where the-

The wind was taken out of him by a shockwave that felt like a charging rhino (or at least it felt like that). Launched to the right, he heard (and felt) a loud *CLANG* as the back of his armour hit a nearby building in the confined alleyway. Wincing in pain and his ears STILL buzzing, he was at least thankful his un-helmed head didn’t crack against the wall… small miracle. Shaking his head to orientate himself, he stood up to be greeted by an incoming thug, rage in his eyes and murder in the direction of a rusty kunai heading straight for his neck.

Almost instinctually he gave a powerful kick to the mans chest, sending the man reeling. In the mindset of a fight now, he raised his left hand and made a “pulling” motion. The kunai did as Mikael beckoned, launching towards his outstretched hand. Deftly tossing it to his right hand, he made in a swift motion a throw straight for the thug’s eye. The kunai didn’t kill the criminal… but it left him in screaming on the ground. A swift kick to the head with an armoured boot quieted him. (Used Magnetic Metal Commandment, Rank D)

Giving a deep breath, he looked up and saw the woman. the smoke now cleared. ”Ugh… those fists of hers… maybe she was the culprit for the smoke, shriek, and shockwave? Is she an enemy…? Whatever she is… I’m sure I’ll find out.” He thought, hurting a bit from the combined assault on his senses.

Leaf was not happy. The blast had come from nowhere, and if not for the fact that he had already been trying to leave he would have been caught right in the middle of it. As it was, he felt part of the edge and it sent him spinning into a wall by a trash can. Thinking fast, he saw a hunk of twisted metal on the ground next to him and had a quick idea. He leapt out into the middle of the alley again, looking for the woman. He turned just in time to see her coming at him. He had only the briefest moment to trigger his Substitution Jutsu before her outstretched arm grabbed what was now basically a clone.

The woman was disturbingly quick considering she was wearing so much armor. She had the fake pinned to the ground in a rather brief moment and seemed to be about to punch it when it lost the illusion of a body. It was not just a large bit of warped metal, and she had her back to him. He took a chance before she had any chance to gather herself and leapt onto her back, his Dagger of Lethe pulled out and the tip pressed into the back of her neck, lightly touching the rag doll spot of her anatomy.

"If I cut you here, it will severe your spine from your brain, killing you instantly. I suggest you don't make any sudden movements, otherwise I might slip. Understand?" He didn't want the fight to go on, but he would not let this chance go. Her armor would keep her from being hurt too much in a straight on fight, but she wasn't wearing anything to protect her neck. This may be his only chance to hold onto, and he would rather kill her than have to risk fighting her head on.

"You. You're free to go, the thugs shouldn't be a problem, they're either unconscious or pretending to be." He spoke the the man in armor, with his chain, hoping he wasn't planning anything stupid.

But then again, who knew?

Shopping Center Scramble

Vi's muscles tensed, more than eager to drive the bad guy's face into the ground—the officer's favorite pastime. And, she almost did had it not been for the tricks being played on her eyes. What was she really looking at? For a moment, it appeared as what was presented right before her eyes; she had captured the boy by the waist and slammed him into the stony ground, trapping him between a rock and a hard place. She was just going to throw the punch and have it all be done with, and yet suddenly the deception became clear to her, as no longer was there a boy but rather a large mass of scrap that had no rhyme or reason to be where it was. The only explanation would be, in fact, that her opponent was no normal criminal off the streets. She knew of the this trickery not because she herself had ever learned the technique, but because her superiors have used this time and time again to throw her off when her brute force overpowered them. If you could not beat them, you had to throw them off, and Vi had fallen for it far too many times ago to fall for it now.

Her eyes widened as the subterfuge came to light, and her next reaction came without thought. Her punching arm was already raised and prepped for action, so the counter attack was quick. Without any indication that she would hit anything at all, she wildly swung that arm in a wide arc behind her, practically flailing the limb. Her body torqued as well, just as she let out a loud cry, and fortune would have it that an attacker in flight would have a hard time changing direction. If her opponent's trajectory remained unchanged, it would just so happen that Vi's large metal fist would clip him at the lower legs, sweeping him in a circle as he tried to leap onto her back. While not optimal in the damage front, she couldn't see the height of his jump to plan on the right altitude of her haymaker. Irregardless, it would certainly throw a wrench into the plans of her enemy; his balance would be robbed of him as he was sent spiralling off to the side, all with a painful metal crack. There was a chance she could splinter the bones in his shin, but also the chance he'd leave with just a massive bruised imprint on his legs.

After that moment of chaos passed, the atmosphere was punctuated with Vi's accusatory voice. "I'll have none of your ninja tricks now," she called, her eyes locking onto the immediate enemy. She spared a brief glance towards the only other one standing—the nerdy-looking one who was carrying a weapon he appeared like he really shouldn't be carrying. More importantly though was the fact that he possessed a good guy status on the merit of being the victim of today's criminal activity, and it was only a coincidence that he was also capable of defending himself. So, a glance was all she could relinquish while in the middle of a fight with a criminal who's speed beat out hers so dominantly. The fact that she could pull off a rash defense in the last situation did not mean she could repeat it again. If it only hadn't been so obvious, things would have perhaps ended right there and now, something a police officer couldn't afford to let happen when against criminals.

"Actually, let's just end the games here shall we? You're under arrest by order of the Kitai Police Force, whoever you are. And I won't be having any of your talk back, so let's get on with it." Vi, demanding the surrender of the enemy, slowly walked forward to the darkly clothed persona in preparation for resistance. There were really only two outcomes in this situation: The first was the easy way, and that was that he would submit to the decree and go along with the arrest so that he could be brought in and essentially interrogated for the slight chance that he was innocent. The other, more likely option, was that he would put up a fight until the end. Vi would have to beat him into submission and take his unconscious body along with the dozens of others into holding, and eventual incarceration for attempted mugging and or resisting arrest.

A part of her was hoping for the latter.
