PostSubject: sparring in the sun. [training]   Tue Apr 16, 2013 9:07 pm

ďItís training day Chai-chan

Bi said to her little kitten as she flung open her closet door. A few days ago Bi had put up a small ad looking for a sparring partner, and sure enough someone responded. A young genin like herself, but it was someone she didnít believe she had met before. No matter. The kitten responded with a soft meow followed by a bit of purring as she sat on a chair and watched her guardian search for an outfit. A process that could take quite a while.

Like most shinobi in Kitai, Bi was currently between missions and a common pastime was training. Now Bi found that many people liked to train alone, in secrecy even, but as a genin she wasnít sure what secrets people had to hide. Perhaps they simply didnít want to embarrass themselves in front of others. This is not to say that Bi does not train on her own, she certainly does, but she finds that sparring with a partner is where a shinobi truly can test themselves without fear of death or serious injury. BI was already running a bit behind to meet her sparring partner, so she hastily threw on an outfit so she could be out the door. A tight red bandeau top was covered by a loose fitting but off tee shirt that reached just passed her hips. On her legs was a pair of plain black spandex shorts and a pair of interesting leopard print high tops. She threw her air up into a high, secure ponytail and snatched up a thin black hoodie before running out the door.

It was a fairly nice day in Kitai, a little cloudy but she could deal. She quickly made her way through the streets, not stopping to talk to anyone, though plenty of things caught her attention. It was a bit of a walk from the Tonkatsu district to Sugoi beach in Yakitori, but it would serve as a nice warm up. As soon as Bi reached the beach she scoped out a good spot for the two to get down to business. There werenít too many people out today so that helped a bit. After a brief look around Bi figured her partner had not yet arrived and so she figured sheíd get in a good stretch before they arrived.

Contrary to the norm, Giriko happened to be prudent and happened to be stuck waiting for someone else. Naturally the one time he took some initiative and arrived early to a meeting was the incident where he was left alone or even possibly stood up. A small sigh escaped him from his perch in a nearby tree, his legs kicking aimlessly beneath him on the beautiful cloudy day as he gazed out over the Sugoi beach. He typically wasn't one for sparring. Fighting in and of itself wasn't the most enjoyable of activities for him to begin with, he much preferred other forms of exercise, but he had multiple reasons to be interested in the mundane activity on this fine day. First off, he had been looking forward to a practical and real life usage, well, as close as simulated real life was going to get, of the Hand of the Law. He had already passed all his proficiency tests with flying color and the weapons mounted on his arms were already beginning to feel natural, but he had never actually fought against another person with them before. It would be a new experience for him and he was looking forward to it. Some of the most joy he had had in recent memory was with the iconic weapon of the Police Force of Kitai and Giriko was fully looking forward to testing it out in combat. That and he now had an excuse to wear the over-sized green cloak that extended down to his ankles, he now was sufficiently hiding his arms from plain view. It was also quite fetching, sort of let him breeze through the wind. It was awesome.

The second reason was a little less pure than the free swinging, high octane, desire to play with his new toy, the person who had posted the ad for a sparring partner was female, and Giriko was nothing if not lecherous. It was a recipe for disaster and Giriko was more than aware of that, there was nothing that could turn a sweet, innocent girl in to a cold blooded killing machine than spending five minutes with Giriko's rather obscene sense of flirting, but for the most part now, that thought was taking a backseat. He was now just simply interested in trying out his new toy, it was actually the first time in his life that being a womanizing jackass wasn't at the top of his to do list...that didn't mean it wasn't on his to do list of course, but for the most part he'd be sticking with the childish happiness today instead of the lecherous childish happiness. Giriko turned slightly in his seat as he heard the running footsteps reach their little beachfront. It was a girl, attractive, very much so, who seemed to have dressed for the occasion. Giriko silently observed for a few moments as she investigated the area and based on her muscle definition, Giriko could more or less guess that she was who he was here to meet and that her frantic searching was for him or at very least a place for them to fight it out. Giriko wrapped his fingers around the grip of his bow and gently fell from the tree, letting himself take in a few more minutes of watching her stretch before approaching. Again, on the to do list.

"Bi? Hi...I'm Giriko. I responded to your ad, punching and stuff?"

Whether or not he got her attention, Giriko would gently lay his bow down in the sand and a few yards off from the pair before walking back toward her, still keeping a wary distance...both to establish that they weren't starting yet and to be prepared in case she noticed him creepily watching her stretch minutes earlier. A childish, happy, sheepish smile was on the small boy's face as he glanced up at her, the bottom of his cloak blowing rather dramatically in the wind. His wide grin opened to spout more of those word things.

"I'm not really familiar with sparring I have to admit, how would you like to start?"

As Bi she stretched Biís mind went nearly blank. The majesty of the Sugoi beach was quite mind numbing, especially if a person is just open to allow the beauty in. Bi continued through her stretches as she watched the waves come crashing in, leaving bits of white foam along the sand. The scene was so tranquil the Bi nearly forgot why she was at the beach in the first place. The young kunoichi was snapped out of her blissful reverie by someone calling her name. Biís eyes quickly flashed in the direction of the voice trying to get her attention. Her warm, red-brown eyes fell upon a young, rather short man, who Bi guessed was a few years older than her. After a brief moment of taking the guy in Bi rose to her feet and nodded in his direction.

ďOh yesÖ Hi.Ē Bi spoke as she dusted the patches of sand off of her legs. As she stood she really took in how small this guy was. With a quick guess Bi figured she was about a half a foot taller than he was. Perhaps he wasnít as old as she intentionally thought. Bi gave the young manís frame a good look over, he sported a mess of wild violet colored hair and equally lively green eyes. Bi couldnít help but smile a bit at the joyous appearance of the young man, something about him just seemed very lively.

ď Thank you so much for meeting meÖ Giriko right?Ē Bi actually knew full well what his name was, unless she heard him wrong. Bi wasnít one of those who struggled remembering names and faces, but oddly enough she felt the need to ask if she had the name correct. Giriko made a move, apparently to drop his bow, before returning and as he did an energetic grin stamped his face. Bi felt another small tug at the corners of her lips as they slid up into a bit of a smirk. Something about this guy already seemed a little infectious. He spoke rather concisely, getting straight to the point. Obviously there would be no simple pleasantries, and honestly Bi kind of preferred it that way. Biís smirked remained on her face as she began to speak.

ďWell I wouldnít say that Iím an expert, but pretty much we just get a little distance and hop to it.Ē As she spoke, Bi moved a bit to her right and back just a few feet. Giriko could feel free to do the same, if he too wanted a bit more distance, but Bi found that her current position left her enough room to react if need be. She smiled once more to Giriko, and slid into a bit of a stance, her left leg slightly forward, right hand dropped to her waist. Her left hand was raised up about to her chest, while her right leg bared most of her weight. She drew in a deep breath through her nose, fully filling her lungs, and exhaled through her mouth, getting her body as relaxed as she could. Her eyes switched from inviting to intense as they became trained on Giriko and his movements. Figuring she was as ready as sheíd get Bi spoke once more.

ďReady when you are

Giriko continued to beam brightly at her and gave a small, warm, nod as she confirmed that she had both the right person and the right name. Giriko was no stranger to the concept of deception. He was a shinobi after all. Lying, cheating, stealing, slaughter, they were all part of the namesake and while Giriko himself was, for lack of a better term, a "softie" and he wasn't especially fond of lying, cheating, stealing, or slaughter, the power of the assumption was not lost on him. If the girl assumed that he was small, weak, and not childish enough to be taken seriously then smiling like an idiot was suddenly all very much worth it. Not to mention that he enjoyed smiling, it was a rather cathartic experience. On top of that, the sensation appeared to be contagious as his opposition couldn't help but consistently find her features turned up in to a smirk. That worked well for Giriko, he didn't really want too serious a fight to take place here. A serious fight meant they'd have to kill each other and for the most part, he just wanted to play with his new toy and see how many articles of clothing he could relieve Bi of in the process. Of course, she didn't need to know about his ulterior master plans.

As she explained that she was not an expert in the art of sparring, a designation which in and of itself seemed somewhat comical to Giriko as being an expert at practice must be an exciting life, Giriko knelt down to the ground beneath him and gently trailed his finger through the sand as his mind raced. The terrain was, sufficed to say, not advantageous to young Giriko, at least not in a straight taijutsu fight. His opponent was...damnit...bigger and stronger than he was and he simply was not going to have the leg strength to move through the sand as easily as she would. Despite how the fact that the girl was bigger and stronger than was tantamount to self-esteem suicide, Giriko still was going to have to either shift the location of the battlefield, fight through it, or go around it. Changing the battlefield and working through it was pain and exertion weren't exactly appealing options, so he'd have to find a way around it. That was more how he approached problems to begin with anyway however, Giriko was never the type to really face a problem head on, he much preferred to circle around to it's backside and kick it repeatedly until it went down.

A voice broke him out of that little reverie however and as Giriko's eyes turned back up to his opponent, the beaming smile slowly started to creep back to his face. That was a fun look on his opponent's face, one that'd serve her well for awhile. That kind of hunger and intensity overwhelmed skill and talent on a frequent basis and it was somewhat frightening for Giriko, who had all the skill and talent and the world and a healthy amount of apathy to go along with it. Giriko slowly pushed himself up to a standing position and returned her gaze, however his was far more lighthearted and carefree. To him this was a game and while he was fully intent on winning, he very obviously didn't care what the outcome was. He just wanted to have fun. With that, Giriko's center of gravity dropped a few inches and his knees bent and toes pointed inward as he raised his arms in front of him, hands and elbows along his centerline as the sheepish grin just grew further. He did have some motivation, to be perfectly honest. If he got close enough inside, there was always grappling and with a cute girl like that, that experience was definitely going to be exciting. With that thought, Giriko sprung forward, sand kicking up around his feet as he closed the distance between them before planting down in front of the girl, shifting his weight to a balanced level before rifling a short punch toward his opponent's sternum, making sure not to put enough force in to the attack to do much damage or to give her enough leverage to do anything to him by catching the punch.

Biís eyes watched as Giriko knelt down and trailed his finger through the sand, no doubt an attempt to get a feel for how fine the sand was. ĎWell no doubt he knows a bit of what heís doingÖí Bi thought. She had intentionally chosen a portion of the beach with slightly finer, softer sand. It wouldnít be too much of an exercise if there wasnít some element which caused them both to have a bit of a handicap. Slowly Giriko rose back to his feet, that winning, carefree smile still on his face. While Bi seemed completely powerless to that smile before, now was a bit different, she was focused and if years of working with not only her mother but also her father taught her anything, it was that focus could not be broken. Biís reddish-brown eyes watched as he lowered into a stance, a signal he was ready to begin. Her eyes taking in his entire form Bi immediately began to match her breathing to his own. She would mimic the subtle rise and fall of his chest. Inhale. Exhale. Up. Down. It was a small nuance so subtle that Giriko probably wouldnít even notice, and while it only took a moment, it was the first thing Bi always did at the start of any match.

ĎThere!!í The moment Giriko sprang forward, Bi was prepared. Her eyes narrowed a bit as the energetic man bolted towards her. Her mind remaining focused on the task at hand. A quick thought flashed through Biís mind, something she had been contemplating since she laid eyes on Giriko. Perhaps she would allow the first strike to nail dead on, just to see how strong he was, but Bi immediately dismissed the notion as a very bad idea. As the distance between the two closed, the time for action approached. Giriko started things off with a powerful punch with his right arm. Maintaining her calm, Bi shifted her weight slightly to her right. While doing so her left arm would extend outwards and upwards, knocking the fist away. Once her hand made contact Bi would began to move like water, fluid and smooth. She would shift her momentum, which was going to the right, forward in the form of a lunge , her left leg leading. This shift in momentum would be accompanied by a quick strike to Girikoís right shoulder joint with her right hand, her left hand snapping down to her hip. If this hit connected, Giriko might feel a bit of tingling along his arm as this was a very sensitive area.

Keeping up her fluid dance, Bi withdrew her right arm in an arching overhead motion. She shifted her weight again once more to her right leg, causing her left leg to lift slightly off the ground, before thrusting it back to her left. As her foot stomped back down into the sand, Bi would send both fists rocketing towards Girikoís torso, her body twisted slight so that her left fist was beneath her right, as opposed to them being side by side. If the hit connected it would likely hit within the chest and stomach region respectively.

There was something Bi was going to learn about Giriko quickly or she would be consistently fighting an upward battle. If something is given for Giriko to notice, if there's a pattern, if there's anything that is observable, Giriko is going to notice it and he's going to process it at a speed that, quite frankly, shouldn't be possible for a child or even the majority of adults. It was a gift that Giriko was blessed with and it was one he exploited at every given opportunity. While something as subtle as a slight change in breathing patterns would have been overlooked by most, if not all of her opponents, even the finest of details were picked up by GIriko's hyper cognitive abilities. He had already measured the difference in timing in the beats down to the last millisecond, it wasn't a fair stretch past that point to realize that she was attempting to mirror him.

It was also a good thing he couldn't read her thoughts. He wasn't sure how a short jab that originated in front of his body could possibly be construed as a powerful attack, perhaps it was his tiny arms that struck such awe inspiring fear in to the masses everywhere. It wasn't even verified that Giriko was even capable of throwing a "powerful" punch. His leg strength was always better than his arm and even then it wasn't anything impressive, all the power Giriko generated, ever, came from using the entirety of his body to fuel an attack, utilizing physics against an opponent and that short wing chun punch didn't have any kind of force behind it. It was more to make her move or open her up for further strikes and while it did force her to move, perhaps Giriko was not giving her quite enough credit. She moved a lot more fluidly than he was prepared for and quite honestly, it was somewhat entrancing. Enough so that Giriko didn't notice the rather persistent threat of getting punched. As his hand was knocked up and outward, Giriko let the momentum she generated return it up and around and to a rest position in front of him, but it was not fast enough to stop the quick peck to his right shoulder. It was a weird strike, there wasn't much pain, it was like she barely touched it and the effect did not hit him right away, brain taking a few second to process the numbness that his right arm was succumbing to.

It was after her preliminary "peck" that she opened herself to what Giriko was looking for, a committed, overbearing attack. There were many ways in which the sand that they were fighting in was disadvantageous to Giriko. He couldn't move as quickly through the sand, which handcuffed his sheer speed and agility which would probably be the only concrete advantage his small frame would have over his opponent, but it did afford a very substantial strength if his opponent was not ready for it. The sand around them and the extra weight it would apply to their movements was exactly what Giriko needs to anchor himself to the ground and let his opponent's superior strength be halted in its tracks. As his opponent shifted her weight to prepare herself to deliver as much force as she could with her double punch, cocking her fists at her sides, Giriko kept his body parallel to hers as his knees bent slightly, toes tucked in once more and his hips pushed forward, his weight burying himself in the sand and anchoring him to the spot. Utilizing his capacity to map out trajectories at a moment's notice, it was not difficult for him to anticipate where her fists were going and to react accordingly, even with the variance in her aim and he quickly moved his own hands up to intercept her strike, each of her fists connecting with the boy's open palms. Using the strength of his stance and the extra anchoring of the ground to his advantage, Giriko's hands absorbed the force of her strikes and stopped them in their tracks.

It would be now, once his hands and forearms were stopped and not hidden beneath his cloak or flying through the air in the form of punches, that his opponent would see the weapons that Giriko wore on his arms. The girl would see, clearly, the pair of twin gauntlets encasing Giriko's arms and the wired spool the flew back down beneath the boy's cloak. These were the toys he was planning to test out. He had taken most of the sharp tips off of the projectiles, opting to go with no attachments, not even the standard ones, on six of his eight mechanisms, keeping one of the sharp ones on each arm in the event he needed to hook something. This way, the weapon would only bruise the girl if they connected instead of punching through her like a knife. Hopefully and most likely before the girl would have a chance to realize what was happening, Giriko would attempt to clamp his fingers down around her hands and applied pressure against his palm with her fists, one of the tubes on his left hand firing and rocketing a blunted and heavy metal wire straight in to the center of her stomach, most likely doubling her over and knocking her away from Giriko if it connected. It was at that point, unfortunately, when the numbness took over Giriko's arm and while he tried to hit her with the same mechanism that he had fired with his left hand, he found himself unable to move his fingers and hand with the same precision any longer, the lack of response keeping him from adequately using The Hand of the Law. At that revelation, Giriko would hastily release his opponent and jump away before gently poking at his arm, trying to find a sense of feeling in it and coming rather close to failing, his arm being rendered rather less potent. Funnily enough, this only made the smile widen on Giriko's face. This was interesting indeed.

A sudden Ďclap!í would resound over the crash of the waves as Giriko caught Biís fists. Ever the dancer, Bi did not allow this to slow her graceful movements at all. Just a moment after her fists connect with his palms, Bi would correct her stance by turning her chest and head to face him. She would then push up off her right leg to send a quick knee to his open chest. When Bi corrected her stance however, her eyes caught wind of something a bit unusual. There on either of Girikoís forearms were two gauntlets of some sort. She didnít know right away if these were solely defensive, or if they had some offensive capabilities, but Bi was sure she was going to find out sooner or later.

As luck would have it, Giriko would choose to unveil one of the gauntlets features immediately. As his fingers bared down and around Biís fists, she felt him push back a bit against her. Instantly one of the openings on the left gauntlet shot forth what appeared to be a flexible rod or heavy wire. With their close proximity, Bi was in no position to evade, or even knock the projectile off course. The wire rocketed passed her knee, as it was still rising, and collided with her torso, striking her just about an inch and a half below her sternum. The blunt force, and point of contact, of the wire caused Bi to be thrown back a bit, but she did not fight it. Allowing all of her momentum to go up and back, from the wire as well as her knee, Bi managed to perform a shallow, yet exceedingly graceful, back flip. She landed crouched low on the ground, her momentum still going back a bit. Once she made a connection with the sand, Biís eyes immediately shot up to Giriko. It seemed he decided to get a bit of distance from Bi. Things were now beginning to get fun.

ĎPerhaps those things work better at a distanceÖ even if they do, at close range they come out much too quick to evadeÖíBi conversed with herself only for a brief second before she bolted towards Giriko. The pain in her chest was a warm pain, certainly the makings of a nasty bruise, but hey what were spars for? The kunoichi tore quickly through the sand, managing to close the gap between them relatively quickly. She kept her eyes trained for the launching of anymore projectiles as she did so however. As she came within two meters of Giriko she launched herself into the air, still maintain that forward momentum. Her right hand balled into a tight fist, raised to her temple, poised to strike. As she came upon Giriko, she did something strange. Quickly Bi dropped her right shoulder, while tossing her left back. This motion caused her to spin quickly over herself and land to Girikoís left. She landed with her left knee, and hand planted firmly in the sand, while her right was raised and her fist in her right hip. Wasting no time, Bi blasted up from this position, and thrust her right fist towards Girikoís head.

The girl's knee was a sneaky one, but at that point Giriko had obtained all the leverage in the world in that situation and had managed to simply shift his weight backwards as the knee was coming up, his small and flexible frame arcing backward and causing the knee to not accomplish much more than a grazing blow against his cloak. The more pressing concern was the boy's arm. Giriko, with a look of focus he really had not possessed up until that point, gazed at the limb as he slowly tensed and relaxed the muscles. He could still move it, it wasn't paralyzed, but the sensation was gone and doing any complex motion with it was out of the question. He doubted he could even throw a decent punch with it at this point. A small sigh escaped him, his mind having processed that information in the time it took his opponent to, rather gracefully and equally entrancing he might add, flip through the air and land in a rather dignified manner in the sand. A display that further made him disappointed, he was neither strong nor skilled enough to effectively wrestle her to the ground with one arm working properly. This fight had gotten so much less sexy, so very quickly. Thankfully, it was still pretty fun and the injuries he'd sustained made it all the more enjoyable. Having a handicap did indeed make things more interesting.

There was still a use to be had for his arm though and Giriko hoped his opponent would assume that he simply couldn't use the numbed limb. It seemed to be a good assumption as well, considering her eyes were tunneled straight in on his left arm, specifically the hand of the law. It made sense for her to be worried about it, it was the only thing he had used so far that was even remotely effective against her. This was a spar however and he wanted to push himself, it's why the bow was currently on the ground. He wanted to use his modest taijutsu skills as adequately as possible, that was what he needed the practice at. Granted, he couldn't even fire his bow right now even if he wanted to, that strike was becoming more and more annoying as time passed. Hopefully it wasn't permanent, that'd be irritating. A footstep in the sand broke him out of that line of thought as the woman rushed at him. Perhaps it was his turn to start using some techniques. They were all simple, nothing elaborate like numbing an arm, but they were effective in that simplicity and maneuverability they afforded combined with Giriko's capacity to analyze, chart, and calculate things at a moment's notice made them all the more potent. As the woman closed the distance, Giriko bounced gently, plopping through the sand. The loose ground was a source of annoyance and diminished the usefulness of this technique, but not enough that it actually prevented it from working. The sudden and strange spin maneuver she performed did effectively allow her to attack around his guard, but he never had any intention of blocking her strike.

As soon as she found herself on her knees, a fact that Giriko really wished he could focus on and would have if there wasn't a fist hurtling at his face, Giriko's feet touched the sand and as soon as her punch was launched, the boy kicked up again, bouncing just the right amount of space forward with his split step that her fist sailed just past his head, completely harmlessly. In the same, fluid motion, Giriko's left hand would shoot up and aim to grab hold of the girl's wrist as it finished its punch, hopefully before she could recall it. If that was successful, Giriko would plant both legs hard in to the ground, drawing them in forward to protect his groin, while simultaneously pulling his arm back and hopefully dragging her forward and off balance. Using the resistance of her body, Giriko would violently torque his waist, gathering up the requisite momentum to fling his numbed and rigid right arm. He had read of a martial art of old referred to as Piguaquan, which relied on movements like this to generate a "whip" like effect for their strikes, letting their limbs lash out at their opponents. This obviously wasn't quite what they had devised but given his circumstances it was an adequate substitute. Giriko would "whip" his numbed arm and the metal gauntlet toward the girl's ribs, having had hopefully taken her left arm out of the equation and thrown her balance off...hopefully he would only bruise the aforementioned ribs.

As Bi bolted through the sand, she noted her opponent took on a slight switch in stance. As opposed to really grounding himself, he had assumed more of a bouncy stance, alternating between feet; a plan that obviously benefitted him, as he was easily able to evade Biís last strike. Giriko wasted no time in quickly going on the offensive. After the kunoichiís right fist sailed just passed Girikoís head, Bi felt something snap around her wrist. Her eyes immediately shot in the direction of the sensation. It seemed that Giriko had managed not only to evade her attack, but also grab hold of her arm, just as it sailed passed him, and that wasnít all. Almost immediately there was a tug at Biís arm. It would seem that Giriko intended to pull her in toward him. Biís was not in any position to try and resist the tug, so instead she simply went with the flow. As Giriko pulled her in, Bi allowed her chest to drop. In order to keep her balance, and not fall onto her face, Biís left arm shot out and landed on Girikoís planted right leg. This would be enough to keep her upright, but also provided a nice support for her.

Biís body would seem to flow like water and wind. Without missing a beat, she would attempt a quick strike on Giriko, using the momentum from the pull and his leg as a support. Utilizing her flexibility, Bi allowed her left leg to be carried upward while her chest dropped down. The leg would come arching up over her back, causing the kunoichi to look something like a scorpion. The strike was aimed at Girikoís face but with the difference in height of the two, Biís heel would only strike him right on his forehead if it connected. After reaching as far as it could, Biís leg snapped back down into the sand causing her to find herself in a severely deep lunge. Things were getting quite interesting with Giriko, as he was proving he had more than one trick up his sleeves. The tempo of the spar was fast passed and intense, and thatís how Bi liked it, but this left no time to rest.

Biís eyes caught wind of a fast approaching object just to her left. Her left arm was still placed firmly on Girikoís thigh, and her right in his grasp. She didnít quite have the time to fully block the attack with either arm, so she just did the next best thing she could think of. She quickly pulled her left leg up and into her, while turning slightly at her waist. She pushed off of Girikoís leg just a bit, but did not lose contact with him. At the same time she slightly lifted with her right arm that was still in the young manís grasp. This would result in Bi balanced on her right leg. Her left leg was bent with her toes pressed firmly against the right knee. Her arms were spread wide, and her back was arched toward the ground. Her eyes were still on Giriko, but her chest was toward the sky. She watched as the whipped arm flashed inches, if not less, over her face.

((A lot of real life stuff going on for me right now...don't have the energy to really put out the same quality work that I normally would. I'm sorry.))

Giriko was forced to shift his head away to the right to avoid the scorpion kick rushing toward his forehead and because of this, a lot of the velocity was taken off his whipping arm as he lost a lot of the leverage on it from proper body positioning, but he kept it flying at her face to force he to have to dodge it. As he felt the pressure against his leg from her hand and her back arching downward to duck under his strike, Giriko slid the leg she was touching back, relieving her brace on it as he pivoted his whole body, dragging his leg back through the sand as he utilized the Bagua Steps to seamlessly move in to a spot beside her without affording her much a chance to react given her awkward attempt at dodging the blow as he wrenched his right leg in between hers. Using the control he still had over her wrist and her lowered center of gravity, Giriko would quickly extend her arm and place his shoulders under it before roughly pushing his back and up and against her arm, using his leg behind her to trip her as he attempted to slam her in to the ground using his Sumokudori.

[spoiler][Name: Sumokudori
Rank: E-rank
Type: Taijutsu
Element: N/A
Range: Melee
Description: A technique from an ancient style, this technique is used when an opponent has attacked with a punch and is used to counter it. The user grabs the opponent's arm, places the arm at the back of the userís neck before lowering their center of gravity and then tripping the opponent with a sweep of the leg.

Name: Bagua Steps[Baguazhang Kaiho]
Type: Taijutsu
Rank: E-rank
Range: 40 centimeters
Element: N/A
Description: A very basic footwork maneuver that the Taijutsu practitioner has been able to perfect through use of chakra enhanced movements. When an opponent attacks, the Bagua user will circle around his side, and appear behind him. When someone attacks with a punch, the practitioner will put his same sided foot behind their opposite sided foot, with his two feet pointing towards each other. After that, follow up with your left foot, circle behind your opponent's left side and you appear behind the opponent. This can be used as a starting point for a throw or a strike. Using chakra to enhance the movement makes it difficult to the untrained eye. The trained eye, I.E. shinobi, will usually be able to follow the movement, but it is very useful for gaining better positioning in hand to hand combat./spoiler]
